Source Protection Committee Member: Gerry Brouwer
Gerry has been in the sod business for over 45 years, with farms in Georgina, East Gwillimbury and King Township.
With his invention of the Brouwer Sod Harvester in 1966, Gerry expanded his operations to include the manufacturing of turf equipment in 1972. Gerry and his son Eric continue to manufacture various types of sod harvesters under the name of Kesmac/Brouwer. Their facility is located in Keswick and sold to 20 different countries. Gerry is a member of Nursery Sod Growers Association, Landscape Ontario, Toronto Home Builders Association, Canadian Nursery Association, Ontario Golf Superintendents, Turf Producers International, Toronto Board of Trade, Georgina Board of Trade and Canadian Owners and Pilots Association. Gerry is an avid pilot and likes to fly his Cessna 182 whenever possible.
