Source Water Protection

Assessment Reports

The South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Region Assessment Reports were submitted to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change on July 3, 2014 and approved on January 26, 2015.

Update dated August 4, 2015

Recent amendments to the City of Barrie chapters in the Lake Simcoe and Nottawasaga Valley Assessment Reports have been made under Section 51(6) of Ontario Regulation 287/07. Amendments reflect changes made to potential threat counts as a result of the SPC’s decision to demote septic systems from significant threat status in the City of Barrie Issues Contributing Area under Technical Rules 115 & 131. This decision only applies to septic systems located outside of areas where the vulnerability scoring is 10.
